Jayne is a Research Assistant in the UNESCO Centre at Ulster University. She obtained a PhD at Ulster University which explored library and education provision in prisons in the UK and Ireland. She also holds an MA Librarianship from the University of Sheffield, where her research focused on prison-based family literacy programmes in the UK and US. Her research interests broadly focus on equitable access to information and education, particularly to people in prison. Her professional background is in library and information science, having worked as an academic librarian and as a teaching assistant on Ulster University’s Library and Information Management course. She is currently involved in a number of research projects related to education provision for children with special educational needs, citizenship education in Northern Ireland and education in conflict-affected countries.
