Alison is a dynamic and collaborative early career researcher that will begin her PhD at the University of Cape Town in 2022. Her research interests centre around youth, migration and mobility, citizenship, civic engagement and development. Following the completion of her Master’s thesis on African immigrant youth and civic engagement in Cape Town, South Africa, Alison will continue to delve deeper into African-Asian mobility and skill transfer for her doctoral degree. Alison is a scholar and community worker that specializes in theorising and problem-solving at the intersection between theory and practice. Besides her academic work, Alison has 5+ years of experience designing and implementing strategy and change initiatives for mission driven organizations of all sizes.
