Research fellows from PEER’s Central Asia hub attended a seminar offering advice and sharing guidance on publishing research in academic journals last month. The event was organised by members of PEER’s Central Asia team, who scheduled the workshop to commence the day after the official book launch event for The Political Economy of Education in Central Asia, a collaboration from members of the PEER team.

Earlier this month the Central Asia Hub of the Political Economy of Education Research Network (PEER Network) held a book launch event at Nazarbayev University, to mark the publication of their book entitled “The Political Economy of Education in Central Asia”.

The UNESCO Chair in Education for Peace-building and Human Rights at Ulster University has been awarded a British Academy grant entitled the ‘Political Economy of Education in Iraq’. The project seeks to develop a rigorous research agenda on the politics of education in conflict affected countries in the Middle East, promote the exchange of ideas between regional researchers and implement a strategic plan for capacity exchange between the partner universities of Ulster and Koya University in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
