Central Asia hub research dissemination workshop in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) March 2023

On the 13-15 of March 2023, the Central Asia Hub of the PEER Network organised a three-day “Research outputs and dissemination” workshop in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) for early-career researchers from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as part of the PEER Networks’ Research and Practice Fellowships.

On the 13th and the 14th of March, the team discussed ideas and approaches for research dissemination with the workshop facilitators, Professor Kelsey Shanks and Research Director for Social Work and Social Policy, Dr Karl O’Connor (Ulster University), Professor Naureen Durrani and Associate professor Hélène Thibault (Nazarbayev University). During the workshop, the hub’s fellows were provided with the opportunity to prepare some of their research outputs and receive feedback from their mentors and peers.

On the 15th of March, the Hub organised the research dissemination day in cooperation with the Institute for Advanced International Studies under the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. The participants of the research dissemination day were welcomed by the Vice-Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Dr Gulnoza Ismailova, the PEER Network’s Joint Principal Investigator, Professor Kelsey Shanks (University of Ulster) and Central Asia hub’s team, Professor Naureen Durrani and Associate professor Hélène Thibault. Following the opening note, during four sessions, fellows presented their small-scale research projects and answered the questions from the researchers and practitioners in Tashkent.
